FAQ : Training and Education
- How much training do I need?
- Educational requirements vary from level to level:
- Level A : The training requirements are higher at Level A than those required at Levels B and C. Level A training requirements are outlined on pages 8 and 9 of the Level A Required Standards.
- Levels B and C : DSS Licensing mandates annual training requirements, which apply to Level B and C providers. Information on DSS licensing training requirements is available through the South Carolina Center for Child Care Career Development and DSS Child Care Licensing and Regulatory Services.
- How can I get training?
- Many state, regional, and local conferences provide training credits. A training calendar of events being held using only trainers certified by CCCCD may be accessed through the Child Care Center for Career Development.
- What is a certified trainer?
- A person certified by the South Carolina Center for Child Care Career Development to provide training to educators of young children.
- Is there any help with paying for training or education?
- TEACH scholarships are available to eligible caregivers/directors for ECD 101 and for degrees at technical colleges statewide and at limited 4 year institutions.
