How much training do I need?
Educational requirements vary from level to level.
- Level A – The training requirements are higher at Level A than those required at Levels B and C. Level A training requirements are outlined on pages 8 and 9 of the Level A Required Standards.
- Levels B and C – DSS Licensing mandates annual training requirements, which apply to Level B and C providers. Information on DSS licensing training requirements is available through the South Carolina Center for Child Care Career Development and DSS Child Care Licensing and Regulatory Services.
How can I get training?
Many state, regional, and local conferences provide training credits. A training calendar of events being held using only trainers certified by CCCCD may be accessed through the Child Care Center for Career Development.
What is a certified trainer?
A person certified by the South Carolina Center for Child Care Career Development to provide training to educators of young children.
Is there any help with paying for training or education?
TEACH scholarships are available to eligible caregivers/directors for ECD 101 and for degrees at technical colleges statewide and at limited 4 year institutions.
